We decided to visit family on our way to our RS program. So today we drove to Cleveland for a visit with David's aunt. We wanted some exercise so, despite very warm temperatures, we went for about a two mile walk in North Chagrin Reservation. This is one of the parks that form the "Emerald Necklace" around Cleveland. We both grew up in this area and I remember many Girl Scout and family outings to this park. It is fun returning to a place where you hiked and played over fifty years ago! The Hickory Fox Loop Trail followed a path through the woods below towering hardwoods and along the edge of a very deep, wooded ravine. It is amazing that such beautiful trails exist so close to the suburbs and busy roads of this city.
It still looks like we might have a very wet week for our program. Hopefuuly the rain and storms will not keep us from our hikes on the AT. We are really excited about this program.
